Lava Fields + Roast Marshmallow on Lava + Pacific Coast
The adventure time is here, if you love hiking and nature this is a great experience. On this tour you will have the chance to walk over solidified lava fields and roast marshmallows with the lava heat coming up through the ground and enjoy the great view from the top, and that is just the beginning of the day cause after the hike we are going to the beach to spend the night in Monterrico.
This tour also has a social side, we encourage all our travelers to bring school supplies, food, toiletries, clothes... or anything you would like to share with the kids from this comunity, so at the end of the hike we can alway spend some time with them and give them the little presents... We think it is highly recommended to bring things related to education, clothing and health :-)
Pacaya is an active volcano in Guatemala, which first erupted approximately 23,000 years ago and has erupted at least 23 times since the Spanish invasion of Guatemala. Pacaya rises to an elevation of 2,552 metres (8,373 ft). After being dormant for a century, it erupted violently in 1965 and has been erupting continuously since then. Much of its activity is Strombolian, but occasional Plinian eruptions also occur, sometimes showering the nearby Departments with ash.
Pacaya is a popular tourist attraction. Pacaya lies 30 kilometers (19 miles) southwest of Guatemala City and close to Antigua. The volcano sits inside the Escuintla Department.
