When visiting Guatemala, we highly recommend all travelers to have a travel insurance, medical insurance and a copy of their passport always handy, it does not matter how experienced we are as travelers emergencies can always happen and it is always good to be prepared, if you are coming to Guatemala, you are ready to go on the road, to climb volcanoes, go in the ocean or swim on a river or lake, so insurance will always make sense.

Guatemala offers all kinds of forests, jungles and weather, and rain as well can always appear, make sure to have water protection for your electronics (cameras, phones, tablets, computers…) whether you go exploring a cave with an underground river or simply go kayaking things can always happen in a blink of an eye and if it happens having your electronics protected from weather can always make the difference for your trip to be awesome.

Waist bag :)… Always a great companion, to keep all the documents, your credit or debit cards as cash, always have a discrete waist bag with you to keep all what matters to react in case of an emergency and make sure to not lose your travel documents (passport specially), emergency contacts as a note with any medical conditions to be prepared in case of any event that may require it.

A copy of your passport will always be a great idea to have in one of your pockets… It is required as a traveler to have an ID with you all the time, so to keep your original passport safe bring a copy of your passport, so your passport can always remain safe in your waist bag all the time.
